Stacey has recently joined the commercial team at Square One Law. She has broad experience in advising on a wide range of commercial agreements as well as providing specialist advice on finance, State aid and competition matters.
Stacey trained and worked as a solicitor at Slaughter and May in London, where she gained experience across a broad range of legal areas, including corporate finance, commercial contracts, competition and State aid.
Whilst at Slaughter and May, Stacey spent time in Brussels working within the competition and regulatory group on a range of competition matters as well as using her experience to provide State aid advice in the context of, amongst other things of rescue packages following the financial crisis.
In 2016, Stacey then went on to join the Bank of England as legal counsel advising the markets, banking and notes divisions on a broad range of complex commercial, corporate and financial aspects of the Bank’s operations. This included assisting with the drafting and implementation of the Bank’s gold account policy, advising on risk assessment for anti-money laundering and sanctions, and regularly drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. She also took a leading role on the management of the wind-down of personal banking and was responsible for negotiating and advising on customer banking terms and conditions. Throughout her time at the Bank of England Stacey provided competition law advice on policy implementation and State aid issues in a range of matters.
