Rebecca is a partner in the employment team.
Rebecca trained and worked in London, at international law firms Jones Day and Hogan Lovells, before moving back to the North East. She joined Square One Law in 2017.
She has extensive experience advising businesses on their day-to-day employment law and human resource issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, poor performance, sickness absence and executive terminations. Rebecca also advises on employment related disputes and litigation in the Employment Tribunal including unfair dismissal, discrimination, breach of contract and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She has experience of providing businesses with employment specialist support in the context of acquisitions/disposals and specifically the application of TUPE. Rebecca also regularly provides strategic and pragmatic advice on business decisions, including reorganisations and redundancy situations.
Rebecca regularly delivers seminars and roundtable workshops on an array of topics. She has a particular interest in considering the “future of work” and the evolving challenges employers face in attracting and retaining talent. Most recently she has facilitated a programme of workshops with senior HR professionals looking at the benefits of HR teams working closely with their marketing colleagues to align the employer brand with the corporate brand, simultaneously improving the internal culture of the business.
